Biography
Kaif was born in Hong Kong on 16 July 1984, to a Kashmiri father (who acquired British citizenship) and a British mother. Kaif has eight siblings; seven sisters and one brother. At age 14 she was approached by an agent and began modeling; her first job was for a jewellery campaign. She continued modelling in London.
*Career*
Kaif's London model work led to her discovery by film-maker Kaizad Gustad. She moved to Mumbai and was offered a number of modelling assignments. However, film-makers were at first hesitant to sign her because she wasn't able to speak Hindi.
Breakthrough (2005-2006)
Katrina saw success with the 2005 film Sarkar with Abhishek Bachchan. Her next release, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2006),she earned her an award at the Stardust Award for breakthrough female performance.
In a recent interview to HT, when asked about whether she had been ever in love, the soft-spoken actress had nothing to hide; She said, "Yes, I've been in love.
, "Love and marriage can't be planned. It happens at its own time; in it's own way. You can't say you won't get involved with someone because of his choice of career."
